The classroom taught me everything. Now I teach it back.
14 years in real classrooms. 9 years training other educators. One belief: great teaching is a craft, and crafts can be taught.
Why learn from me
I'm Élise — a teacher trainer, course designer, and unapologetic believer that every classroom can be a place of genuine wonder.
I started teaching at 23 in a small school outside Lyon. I was terrified, under-prepared, and convinced I’d been hired by mistake. What saved me wasn’t a method — it was the kindness of one veteran teacher who let me copy her lesson plans and ask stupid questions.
Fourteen years later, I had taught every age from 7 to 17, opened a literacy programme in three rural schools, and finally understood what that kind teacher had really given me:Â permission to design teaching slowly, on purpose.
In 2017 I started training other educators full-time. Today, more than 24,000 teachers in 62 countries have taken a course or workshop with me. I still think of every one of them as that 23-year-old, terrified and hoping someone hands her a plan.
